Lauren Pruitt (she/her) is a Colombian-American Director and Cinematographer who has shot and directed a variety of projects ranging from comedy to sci-fi/fantasy to doc and branded films. Her work is rooted in finding common ground in the midst of our differences with a focus on story and visuals. As a Cinematographer, Lauren strives to create a safe and supportive environment for directors and actors to achieve the performances they dream of. She’s inspired by the people she encounters in daily life, music, color, and spaces.

In 2018, Lauren spoke on the Kodak panel at SXSW and participated in AFS's Artist Intensive with Richard Linklater. She also wrote and directed “Highsmith”, “Dave”, and 4 spec commercials that garnered 6 Addy Awards, and her third short film “Mujer de La Ciudad” won Best Latino Short at CineMiami Festival 2022. Her most recent short film “Queen of the Night” won Best of the Fest Short at the South Texas Underground Film Festival and she is currently developing her first feature film of the same title. 

Lauren’s work has screened at various festivals around the world and she recently lensed three feature films entitled “Lousy Carter”, “The Midnight Song”, and "Down". She lives in New York City and would love to hear from you, so feel free to reach out and say hi!
