Lauren Pruitt is a filmmaker in New York City versed in narrative and branded storytelling through motion pictures. She conceptualizes, shoots, cuts, and delivers.
Lauren made her first short film at age 16 entitled “I Always Pictured You Outside” (26 min). She studied screenwriting at the University of Texas and spent time as an editor before working on set as a camera assistant and cinematographer. While Lauren has spent nearly a decade working with cameras, she’s obsessed with storytelling and has since written and directed three short films entitled “Highsmith” (2013, 12 min), “Dave” (2016, 10 min), and “Mujer de la Ciudad” (2019) as well as 4 spec commercials that won 6 regional Addy Awards.
Lauren’s work has screened at festivals across the US and Europe including SXSW, Canne’s Short Film Corner, and the Berlin Feminist Film Week and her feature script “Little Mouth” was chosen for the AFS Artist Intensive Lab with Oscar-Nominated Director Richard Linklater. Lauren currently lives in Brooklyn and shoots videos for clients like Reebok, Aetna, Target, and Bertolli and is developing feature screenplays.
